Agility & Hoopers Classes

Agility

Our classes are run by Agility Club Accredited Instructors and we offer classes across the week to suit all levels and abilities from beginner through to those who wish to compete in agility. We have experience of working with lots of different breeds of dogs and agility classes for your dog can start with us from around 10 months upwards depending on breed.

Our equipment is regularly maintained and updated. Our contact equipment is rubber surface.

As dogs work off lead in agility, you must have reasonable control of your dog and a good recall. We run monthly taster sessions for those wishing to try out agility, these sessions give you an opportunity to see how your dog performs before committing to a regular class.

In our beginner level classes you will learn how to negotiate equipment safely, handling skills, start line waits and short sequences.

Hoopers

Hoopers is a relatively new canine sport which offers a low impact alternative to agility for dogs.   Dogs negotiate flowing courses made up of hoops, tunnels and barrels and learn to work at a distance from their handler.

Hoopers is suitable for the majority of dogs including young dogs, larger breed dogs and for older dogs or those retired from agility. Our classes are suitable for dogs from the age of 10 months. For younger puppies please see our Agility/Hoopers Groundwork sessions.

Our Hoopers classes are run by Hoopers World Instructors and follow the Levels of achievements.

We run monthly Introduction to Hoopers workshops in addition to regular classes.

Additional Classes

Puppy Agility & Hoopers Groundwork Skills

It is not recommended for puppies to start agility and jumping at a young age as their bodies are still developing.

However there are lots of skills that your puppy can learn which will help them once they are old enough to start agility and hoopers.

We run monthly sessions at our agility field for puppies between the age of 6 months and 10 months in which we work on focus, start line waits, directional commands, drive and building up a good relationship between dog and handler.

Agility Workshops

In addition to our regular agility classes we run regular workshops for those who want an opportunity to focus on specific equipment or improve handling skills.

Workshops include:

Weave & contact equipment skills

Jumps and tunnels skills (including grid work)

Full course workshops

Handling Skills

Motivation skills

One to One training

We are able to offer one to one training in both Agility and Hoopers.
